For the second year running, the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation offered its support to the Aquafilm Festival which took place in Portoferraio on the Island of Elba from 23rd to 25th June 2017.  The festival featured several short films focused on water, as well as workshops and cultural and scientific meetings.

Divided into three themes - fresh water, sea water and thermal water - the film competition was created by Eleonora Vallone, an actress and journalist.

A screening of the film l’Odyssée, produced by Jérôme Salle and which recounts the story of Jacques-Yves Cousteau, took place at the beginning of the festival. Maurizio Coduri, President of the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation’s Italian branch and Hélène El Missouri, Project Administrator for the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation presented the film “Retour aux sources” (filmed by Monaco’s Communications Office) which traces the journey made by water on Monegasque territory.
