Alongside the Foundation, Monaco Telecom renews its commitment to support education on eco-responsible consumption in the schools of the Principality
Monaco
Press release
On Monday 16 March
2026, the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation and Monaco Telecom
officially renewed for the sixth consecutive year their partnership in support
of the programme for education on sustainable food and urban farming in schools
led by the Department of Education, Youth and Sports, and the
Monaco-based company Terrae.
On the occasion, Mr
Martin Péronnet, CEO of Monaco Telecom, presented a cheque of €10,675
to Mr Romain Ciarlet, Vice-Chairman and CEO of the Prince Albert II of
Monaco Foundation. This donation derives from eco-responsible actions set by
the operator, in line with its commitment to dedicate its induced contributions
to environmental initiatives, in consultation with the Princely Government and
the National Council.
Through this renewed
partnership, the two institutions aim to ensure the continuation of the
educational programme run by Terrae since autumn 2020 in schools across
the Principality. To date, six schools and 600 children have
benefited from this hands-on awareness programme focused on nature, fruit and
vegetable cultivation, and respect for seasonal cycles.
According to Mr
Romain Ciarlet, Vice-Chairman and CEO of the Prince Albert II of Monaco
Foundation: “Passing on to younger generations a concrete understanding of
natural balances and the food production cycle is a fundamental lever. By
supporting this programme over the long term alongside Monaco Telecom, the Department
of Education, Youth and Sports, and Terrae, we are investing in an education
that embeds, from an early age, the principles of responsibility, seasonality
and respect for living systems.”
Mr Martin Péronnet stated: “By
continuing our support for the educational school garden programme in the
schools of the Principality, we are delivering a concrete expression of our
commitment as a responsible company, rooted locally and focused on future
generations. We will therefore continue to mobilise around actions promoting
sustainable and responsible digital practices, both within the company and
among our customers, in order to keep supporting the funding of environmental
initiatives in the Principality alongside the Foundation.”
The event took place
in the presence of Mr Jean-Philippe Vinci, Director of the Department of
Education, Youth and Sports, and Mrs Jessica Sbaraglia, Founder of
Terrae.
According to Mr
Jean-Philippe Vinci: “This partnership is a wonderful educational
initiative. It enables students to reconnect with the rhythms of nature and to
learn, in a very concrete way, respect for living systems. By placing nature
back at the heart of learning, the workshops led by Terrae give children the
opportunity to understand where food comes from and gradually move away from a
logic of blind consumption, towards developing a more conscious and responsible
relationship with their environment.”
Mrs Jessica Sbaraglia emphasised: “Every
urban farming lesson and school garden created within a school opens a door to
reconnect children with the living world. Seeing pupils marvel at an herb, a
germinating seed, or a vegetable they have grown themselves reminds us how
important learning through nature truly is. Thanks to the renewed support of
the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation and Monaco Telecom, we can continue
to nurture this essential and lasting awareness at the heart of the
Principality.”
