After an initial stop at the Botanical Garden in Rome in spring, followed by a presentation at the Borgo Laudato Si’ in Castel Gandolfo during the summer, the images from the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation’s Environmental Photography Award are continuing their journey across Italy, driven by the Foundation’s Italian branch.

On the one hand, the tour took place in Menaggio, on the shores of Lake Como from September 4 to 30, 2026, featuring the exhibition "Man-Nature: Fragile Balances," which showcases the 34 winning photographs from the Foundation’s Environmental Photography Prize (spanning 2021 to 2025) along the Viale Benedetto Castelli.
The official opening of this exhibition brought together Marco Colasanti, President of the Italian branch; H.E. Anne Eastwood, Ambassador of the Principality of Monaco to Italy and Vice-President of the branch; Menaggio Mayor Michele Spaggiari; and Councilor Antonella Mazza, among other distinguished guests.

Meanwhile, in the Mediterranean, on the island of Capri, an exhibition featuring a selection of photographs dedicated to the Ocean, its ecosystems, and its biodiversity is running from September 9 to November 3. Set up in the historic center of Anacapri (on Via Giuseppe Orlandi) and titled "The Breath of the Ocean," the exhibition showcases 17 images drawn from the relevant category across various editions of the photo contest.
President Marco Colasanti inaugurated this second exhibition during a ceremony at the Mario Cacace Media Library, attended by the Mayor of Anacapri, Francesco Cerrotta, and Deputy Mayor Manuela Schiano; the latter also announced a scientific conference linked to the exhibition's theme.

"Each location where we display these photographs lends them new meaning," notes Marco Colasanti. "In Menaggio, the lake and mountains blend naturally into the exhibition's narrative; in Anacapri, it is the sea itself that engages in a dialogue with the images. It is precisely this interplay between photography and the landscape that makes the message even more immediate: protecting nature means preserving the living system of which we are a part and on which our future depends."

Buoyed by their success at every stage, the two exhibitions will travel to other Italian cities through the end of 2026, continuing the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation’s Environmental Photography Award’s mission to raise awareness of environmental issues among an ever-wider public.
