The official inauguration of the 2025 Environmental Photography Award exhibition by the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation took place on 6 June 2025 along the scenic Promenade du Larvotto, in the presence of HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco.

This festive occasion also marked the presentation of diplomas to this year’s award winners, in recognition of their outstanding work raising awareness about environmental issues through photography.
Honoured during the ceremony were:

  • Angel Fitor, Environmental Photographer of the Year 2025, winner of both Ocean Worlds and Change Makers: Reasons for Hope categories

  • Amy Jones, winner of the Humanity versus Nature category

  • Iacoppo Nerozzi, winner of the Into the Forest category

  • Fernando Faciole, recipient of the Public Award

The exhibition is open to the public until 31 July 2025, offering a striking visual journey through some of today’s most pressing ecological challenges, as seen through the lenses of both professional and amateur photographers from around the world.

Esteemed jury members in attendance included:

  • Emanuele Biggi, naturalist and conservation photographer

  • Aaron Gekoski, photojournalist and filmmaker

  • Tom Gilks, photo editor and director of Nature Picture Library

  • Ralph Pace, underwater and environmental photojournalist
    The jury was chaired by Ami Vitale, National Geographic photographer and filmmaker, and included Audun Rikardsen, Arctic wildlife photographer and professor of biology, and Jaime Rojo, conservation photographer.

The Foundation warmly thanks all participating photographers for their dedication, as well as Sergio Pitamitz, contest chairman, for his ongoing support. Backed by UISEK, the 2025 edition reaffirms the power of photography to inspire meaningful action for the planet.
