The Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation held
today the 40th meeting of its Scientific and Technical Committee (STC), a body
that helps ensure the scientific excellence of the Foundation and provides expertise
in the evaluation and selection of the projects it supports.
During this session, the committee members reviewed
seven projects related to biodiversity protection and the sustainable
management of water resources.
The meeting was also an opportunity to welcome
two new members to the STC:
- Prof. Marine Gauthier, a specialist in
socio-environmental governance, with recognised expertise in integrating the
rights of local and Indigenous communities into climate and forest policies.
- Prof. Carlos A. Nobre, a
world-renowned climatologist and specialist of the Amazon, widely regarded as a
leading scientist on climate–biosphere interactions.
At the end of the session, H.S.H. Prince
Albert II of Monaco joined the meeting to learn about the projects reviewed
and the recommendations issued by the committee members.
