An event dedicated to new ecological narratives

The first edition of The Green Shift Festival will take place from 7 to 10 June 2023, every evening from 7 to 8.30 pm, on the Promenade du Larvotto in Monaco (Rose des Vents side).

In collaboration with the Department of Cultural Affairs, the Rencontres Philosophiques de Monaco, the Carmignac Foundation, Imagine 2050, Time for the Ocean, Agir pour le Vivant and the Académie Monégasque de la Mer, the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation aims to offer a new kind of event, free and open to all, combining performances, short films and roundtables addressing ecological commitment.

The ambition of The Green Shift Festival is to propose a convivial place of discussions in order to encourage, through a holistic and multidisciplinary approach, the emergence of new narratives, allowing us to explore different ways of living together, more resilient, conscious and inclusive.

Olivier Wenden, Vice-President and CEO of the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, highlights the Foundation's desire to work on these issues of commitment and construction of new narratives:

"The starting point of The Green Shift Festival is a reflection that seems to me to be shared at all levels: how can we trigger a real change in the way we see and think about the world? Science is fundamental in responding to environmental challenges but, beyond the circles of experts, scientific messages do not always lead to the necessary shift to action. In order to project ourselves into a desirable future, emotion, creation and art are powerful tools for generating commitment. This approach is at the heart of the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation's mediation and awareness-raising missions.”

The 2023 edition

Designed as a place for exchange and reflection, in the open air, The Green Shift Festival will bring together in the Principality committed and passionate personalities who have chosen a positive form of activism.

The programme integrates artistic moments - music, documentaries, performances, live readings – to nourish the reflection through other forms of language that also embody the emergence of new narratives of commitment.
