EWWR 2020, Raising awareness among the Principality’s pupils

Monaco

At the close of the European Week for Waste Reduction, the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation was alongside the Department of National Education, Youth and Sports for an awareness-raising campaign among 5th grade pupils of the Fontvieille school.

Following Mrs Isabelle Bonnal's speech, Director of the Department of National Education, Youth and Sports, Mr Olivier Wenden, Vice-President of the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation and Ms Myriam Aarras, Project Manager, invited the pupils to think about alternatives to plastic before distributing beeswax-based packaging specially manufactured by the Foundation for them and enabling them to avoid using plastic film.

Congratulations to the children for their active participation and for their relevant answers which show their awareness and knowledge of environmental issues.

Many thanks to Mrs Caselles, Director of the Fontvieille school for her warm welcome, as well as to the directors of the other schools in Monaco who were present at this event and who will very soon receive an eco-friendly packaging kit to be given to the primary schools pupils.
