The Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation’s Green Shift Initiative has joined the United Nations Fashion and Lifestyle Network (UNFLN), a global programme promoting sustainability, innovation, transparency, and collaboration across the fashion and lifestyle sectors.

Hosted by the UN, the UNFLN is an online platform that advances the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by connecting industry stakeholders, media, governments, and UN entities. Recognising the significant environmental, economic, and social influence of the fashion and lifestyle industries, the Network fosters transparent, inclusive, and transformative engagement while accelerating innovation and knowledge sharing to promote sustainable development among its members.

The UNFLN is a collaborative initiative of the UN Office for Partnerships, the Fashion Impact Fund (a programme of the PVBLIC Foundation), and the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA), with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) as a supporting partner.

"The fashion and lifestyle industries are at a pivotal moment, requiring not only technological innovation but also cultural transformation. The Green Shift Initiative brings a visionary approach that aligns with the United Nations Fashion and Lifestyle Network’s ambition to foster inclusive, human-centred solutions. We are proud to unite with them in advancing ecological narratives that inspire and empower the next generation of changemakers."
Kerry Bannigan, Co-Founder of the UN Fashion and Lifestyle Network and President of the Board PVBLIC Foundation.

"The Green Shift Initiative was created to spark new ways of imagining and engaging with ecological transition. By joining the United Nations Fashion and Lifestyle Network, we are amplifying our efforts to build bridges between science, culture, fashion and sustainability on a global scale."
Olivier Wenden, Vice-Chairman and CEO of the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation.

Launched by the Foundation in 2023, the Green Shift initiative takes a holistic approach to offer a fresh perspective on our relationship with the environment and inspire lasting change in the way we think and act.

The initiative aims to support the ecological transition of the cultural sector, including the fashion and design industries, by targeting professionals, students and the general public to develop knowledge and skills, and highlight existing sustainable and innovative solutions.

A series of gatherings dedicated to sustainable fashion, entitled #TidesOfChange, has already been organised, with three editions taking place during the Monaco Ocean Week in March 2024 and the 2024 and 2025 editions of the Climate Week NYC.
