“MISSION AFRICA” is a daunting adventure launched by VENTURI : a distance of over 5,800 km on the roads and trails of Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Bostwana and South Africa in an electric vehicle, without the slightest assistance. An amazing challenge, in both technological and human terms, raised by the eco-adventurer Xavier Chevrin and his electric car "powered by Venturi", in one of the world’s most poorly equipped areas (65 % of Africans still do not have access to electricity). The main goal was to prove the reliability, robustness and endurance of electric cars in any environment and conditions of use. Backed by Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation and the United Nations Environment Program, this challenge has been undertaken in May and June 2012 as part of the International Year Of Sustainable Energy For All.
