The Ocean Tribute Award launched by the Foundation, the German Ocean Foundation and Boot Düsseldorf.

The Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, the German Ocean Foundation and the international boat show, Boot Düsseldorf which will be held this year from 20th to 28th January 2018, are launching the Ocean Tribute Award.

The award will honour various projects selected in three areas: Society, Industry and Science.

At the launch of the award, H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco, who took part in the Ocean Symposium last year during Boot Düsseldorf, stated “Today the marine environment is deeply threatened. At the core of this Award is the importance of mobilising as many people as possible around this cause and drawing the attention of our contemporaries to such a necessity which should bring us all together. (  ) I was keen for my Foundation to be involved in this commendable project.”

The members of the Ocean Tribute Award judging panel, who met in Dusseldorf on 22nd November 2017, include Monika Breuch-Moritz, a meteorologist, President of the German Maritime and Hydrographic Agency (BSH) and a member of the  German Ocean Foundation’s advisory board, Werner Matthias Dornscheidt, Director General of Messe Düsseldorf, HE Mr Bernard Fautrier, Vice President of the Prince Albert II Foundation, Dr Hartmut Graßl, President of the Federation of German Scientists and President of the German Ocean Foundation, Dr Michael Orbach, an anthropologist, a consultant at Duke University, a founding member of the Surfrider Foundation and a member of the German Ocean Foundation’s advisory board and Robert Marx, President of the German Water Sports Association and of Boot Düsseldorf. Seabob will offer a €1.500 price for each winner.

The award ceremony entitled the “Blue Motion Night” will take place in Dusseldorf on 22nd January 2018.
