The Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation and the Bocconi University in Milan join forces in favour of sustainable development.

The Bocconi University and the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation have signed a framework agreement on June 21st that opens the door to collaboration between the two institutions. The Bocconi University, in particular the GREEN Centre and the Observatory on Public Contracts and Sustainability, and the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation will work on joint projects on sustainability and environmental protection issues, as well as on raising public awareness on these topics.

The agreement was signed by Olivier Wenden, CEO of the Foundation, Marco Colasanti, President for Italy of the Fondation, and Riccardo Taranto, Managing Director of Bocconi. Present at the signing were Fabrizio Fracchia, Professor of Administrative Law and Director of the Public Contracts and Sustainability Observatory, Miriam Allena, Associate Professor of Environmental Law and member of the Executive Committee of the Public Contracts and Sustainability Observatory, Marco Percoco, Director of GREEN, Gianni Alberto Caimi.

"This is an important opportunity for the two institutions to collaborate and exploit their synergies on such a fundamental topic as environmental protection and sustainability," says Miriam Allena. "Moreover, these are topics in which our students show great sensitivity and interest."

Since June 2006, the Fondation Prince Albert II de Monaco has been bringing together scientists, political leaders, economic and civil society representatives for the protection of the environment and the promotion of sustainable development on a local and global level. The preservation of endangered animal species, the improvement of the living conditions of rural communities, and the proposal of new ethical and sustainable solutions are just some of the Fondation's achievements to date.
