The Sovereign attends the Berlin Formula E race

Monaco

On 10th June 2017, HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco travelled to Berlin to attend the Formula E race, an event he has supported with his Foundation since it was first introduced. On this occasion, a conference on clean mobility, “Future of Mobility” was organised. By way of introduction to the conference, the Prince delivered a speech: “what fascinates us about Formula E is this alliance between performance and responsibility. Responsibility towards the planet and towards future generations, whose life will depend on the environment we leave to them. (…) Hydrocarbons are today the symbol of the threats that hang over our planet (…).that is why clean mobility is so important, both as a symbol and also very directly, in its impact on our cities, our countryside and our global climate.  The speakers included the President of the Formula E, Alejandro Agag, Claudius Leibfritz, Director General of Allianz Global Automotive, Jay Rogers, Founder and Director of Local Motors, Dr Bernard Mertens, Audi AG Board Member for Technical Development and André Borschberg, Founder and Director General of H55, a company specialised in electric drive technology, and the co-founder and pilot of Solar Impulse. The panellists focused on clean and independent mobility, air and eco-friendly mobility, as well as mobility for the general public.
