The TARA-Oceans expedition is a French project bringing together a team of international experts on oceanography, cellular and molecular biology, ecology, bioinformatics and navigation.
Its main objective is to analyse the diversity of the coral ecosystems and marine plankton organisms, from viruses and bacteria to protists and metazoans. The expedition began in 2009 and TARA has been sailing the oceans of the globe ever since.
