The CCI Collaborative Fund for Conservation catalyses and supports innovative and collaborative projects undertaken by CCI partners to conserve biodiversity. Projects address high priority conservation issues and are designed to integrate research, education, policy and practice. Since 2009, 43 collaborative projects have been successfully implemented thanks to support from this Fund. Projects are global in reach, and each project brings together a range of disciplines and institutions to address a global conservation challenge and seeks to identify novel solutions.

Projects focus on the following priority themes: valuing biodiversity and ecosystem services; biodiversity and climate change; biodiversity and food security; towards a green economy; capacity building and leadership; linking people, livelihoods and biodiversity; policy and governance; and indicators, monitoring and effectiveness.
