Honduras is one of the poorest countries in the Americas, mainly due to a low level of agricultural productivity and inadequate use and management of natural resources (water, ground and forest).

The project in Honduras aims to improve the living conditions for the rural population in the south of the country facing vagaries of weather, a severe shortage of drinking water and increasing poverty. Action is focused on:

- promoting food security for the populations

- offering greater access to drinking water

- supporting economic activities that respect the sustainable use of natural resources

The Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation supports improvement to water access for the underprivileged populations and  microcredit facilities that benefit target groups, particularly women.
